The Fix-It Playbook — Clogged AC Drain Line Flowchart | Free 1-Page PDF | 2026 Edition

AC won't turn on, or water's dripping near the indoor unit? It's often just the drain line.
Two questions sort it. Is the evaporator coil clear, not frozen solid — a frozen coil is an airflow or refrigerant problem, not a clog. Then shop-vac the outside end, flush the cleanout with vinegar and pour in a cup of water: runs freely means you're done, still backing up means a second pass or a sagging line.
The sheet also carries vinegar vs bleach (one kills algae safely, the other corrodes pans), and a plain line on when to stop and call a pro.

If the tree sends you deeper: How to Clear a Clogged AC Drain Line ($6) adds the complete troubleshooting table for slow drains and repeat clogs, plus how to add a $10–15 float safety switch. All five heating and cooling guides come together as the HVAC Maintenance Kit ($14), and all 24 year-round guides are in the Core Library ($49).
